The main objective of the Department is coordination and support of the international activities of the Center.
International cooperation is an important priority of the Center contributing to maintenance of high professional level of specialists, improvement of the quality of health care, development of advanced scientific trends in obstetrics, gynecology, neonatology
- Coordination and cooperation with other international organizations (including professional societies);
- Coordination of international cooperation of the Center’s divisions in the area of R&D.
- Organization of educational and training programs abroad;
- Organization of the Center’s representation in international scientific fora;
- Organization of events in the Center with involvement of foreign experts.
The Department for International Cooperation provides and coordinates the Center’s contacts with foreign educational, scientific and medical settings, international and national organizations, societies, associations in the area of reproductive health. Among them there are the UNO members, such as: World Health Organizations (WHO), UNO Children Foundation (UNICEF), Joint United Nations program on AIDS/HIV (UNAIDS); professional associations such as: International Federation for Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (EBCOG), American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG). The experts of the Center are the members of more than 20 scientific and professional societies, organizations and associations.
A significant portion of the activity of the Department in the area of Human Reproduction is cooperation with WHO carried out by the WHO Collaboration Center since 1972 as a part of the Special Program for Human Reproduction. At present cooperation is developing on the issues of prevention of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality, decrease and prevention of unplanned pregnancies, safe abortions, improvement of the quality of perinatal care, reproductive health care of children and adolescents.
The Department coordinates joint research projects with foreign universities, scientific and clinical centers, national academies of science. The staff of the Department participates in organization of international academic and practical and educational events with involvement of experts from different countries, such as: congresses, fora, conferences, symposia, seminars, trainings and schools etc. on various issues of obstetrics, gónecology, perinatology, reproductology as well as on questions of ethics, organization of scientific research and evidence based medicine. The Department ensures participation of foreign experts in the events, organized by the Center, such as: annual All Russian Scientific Forum «Mother and Child», international congresses “Reproductive Medicine”, “New Technologies in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Gynecological Diseases”, conferences “Outpatient Practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology”, «Topical Issues of Human Reproduction”, “Anesthesia and Resuscitation in Obstetrics and Neonatology”. About 200 representatives from different countries of near and far abroad and international experts take part in the events of the Center with the assistance of the Department for International Cooperation. Furthermore, the Department makes all necessary arrangements for visits of delegations and specialists to the Center with purpose of cooperation, reference visits and training.
The staff of the Department assists in travel arrangements of the Russian specialists to attend educational seminars and trainings, international congresses and conferences. Over the past 5 years the Department has organized the practical training of the Center’s staff in clinics in France, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, the USA, Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland, South Korea.
